The Automation Engineer will design, develop, and implement automated systems to enhance productivity and sustainability within the Agriculture & Fisheries industry. Based in Rome, this role focuses on creating innovative solutions for precision farming, aquaculture automation, and resource-efficient processes.
Key responsibilities include programming and configuring PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial robots used in irrigation, harvesting, and fish farming operations. The engineer will analyze production workflows, develop control algorithms, and integrate sensors and actuators to optimize system performance. Collaboration with mechanical engineers, software developers, and agronomists is essential to ensure seamless system integration and reliability.
The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining automation equipment, conducting system tests, and providing technical support during field deployment. The engineer will also assist in upgrading existing automation processes and implementing new technologies aligned with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
Candidates should hold a degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with experience in industrial automation, PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.), and SCADA systems. Knowledge of communication protocols like Modbus, Profibus, or Ethernet/IP is required.
