The Avionics Systems Engineer will develop, integrate, and maintain avionics systems for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones used in precision agriculture and fisheries management in Florence. This role focuses on designing reliable communication, navigation, and control systems that support data collection, monitoring, and automation in agricultural and aquaculture applications.
Key responsibilities include specifying and testing avionics hardware and software components such as GPS modules, sensors, flight control units, and telemetry systems. The engineer will collaborate closely with aeronautical engineers, software developers, and agricultural experts to tailor avionics solutions that meet operational requirements and environmental conditions.
The role also involves troubleshooting avionics issues, performing system validation and certification activities, and ensuring compliance with Italian and European aviation standards and regulations. Continuous evaluation and integration of emerging technologies to enhance UAV performance and data accuracy are essential.
Candidates should hold a degree in Avionics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with hands-on experience in UAV avionics system design and testing. Knowledge of communication protocols, embedded systems, and aviation regulations is critical.
