A Backhoe Loader Operator is required for a leading construction and infrastructure company based in Rome. This role involves operating backhoe loaders to perform excavation, digging, loading, and material handling tasks on construction sites, public works, and industrial projects.
The operator will skillfully manage the backhoe arm for trenching and excavation, as well as use the loader bucket for moving soil, gravel, and debris. Responsibilities include conducting equipment checks before and after operation, maintaining safe working conditions, and collaborating with site supervisors to ensure timely project progress.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience operating backhoe loaders, be familiar with construction site safety standards, and understand equipment maintenance requirements. Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under supervision or independently are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Education & Licensing:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Italian heavy machinery operator certification or license specific to backhoe loaders.
Possession of a Category C or CE driver’s license is preferred for site transportation.
Experience & Skills:
Minimum 2 years of experience operating backhoe loaders or similar earthmoving machinery on construction or industrial sites.
Skilled in excavation, trenching, loading, and material handling using backhoe loaders.
Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, or excavation drawings.
Proficient in conducting pre-operation inspections, performing basic equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
Physical & Safety Requirements:
Physically capable of operating heavy machinery for extended periods in various weather conditions.
Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination for precise equipment control.
Strict adherence to safety standards, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
Communication & Work Ethic:
Proficient in Italian; basic knowledge of English is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills for coordination with supervisors and site teams.
Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or within a team.
