Job Description:
The Aircraft Fleet Leasing Director manages all aspects of fleet acquisition, leasing, and return for an airline. This includes lease negotiation, contract management, return condition assessments, and ensuring compliance with lessor obligations and technical standards.
Responsibilities include preparing fleet strategy in alignment with financial goals, managing relationships with lessors and OEMs, structuring lease terms (operating, finance, or sale-leaseback), coordinating delivery and redelivery timelines, and conducting technical inspections. The director also supports aircraft valuation, insurance coverage, and delivery payment schedules.
Job Requirement:
A degree in aviation finance, aeronautical engineering, or law is required. A minimum of 10 years of experience in fleet management or aircraft leasing, with leadership experience, is essential. Understanding of lease types, commercial terms, and maintenance reserves is required.
Candidates must be skilled negotiators with strong financial modeling, contract analysis, and technical inspection knowledge. Familiarity with FAA, EASA, and ICAO airworthiness regulations, as well as asset management systems, is critical. Legal and financial acumen in lease compliance, repossession, and residual value analysis is a plus.
