Job Description:
The Architectural Drafting Designer in AI Ahmadi plays a vital role in translating architectural concepts into detailed construction drawings and technical blueprints. The designer supports architects, engineers, and construction teams by producing accurate two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) representations of building layouts, elevations, sections, and structural details.
Key responsibilities include drafting architectural plans based on conceptual sketches, engineering specifications, and client input. The role also involves creating construction documents, modifying drawings according to site conditions or regulatory changes, and assisting in generating renderings for presentations. The drafting designer ensures that architectural drawings are compliant with local building codes, safety standards, zoning regulations, and project-specific criteria.
Collaboration with project managers, civil engineers, and MEP consultants is essential to ensure design alignment across disciplines. Additionally, the drafting designer manages digital file organization, drawing revisions, and documentation for building permit submissions. Depending on the project scope, the role may also require site visits to gather as-built data or support the project team during construction phases.
Job Requirement:
A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related field is required. A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in architectural drafting and documentation is essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting tools such as SketchUp or ArchiCAD is mandatory. Familiarity with BIM workflows and rendering platforms like Lumion or Enscape is advantageous.
The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, a good understanding of construction materials and methods, and the ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and documentation standards is important.
Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a collaborative environment. Prior experience working in architectural firms or on multidisciplinary construction projects will be an added advantage.
