Job Description:
The Automation Engineering Director in Hawally leads the development, implementation, and optimization of automation systems across industrial, manufacturing, and process engineering environments. This senior leadership role drives innovation in control systems, robotics, and smart manufacturing processes to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include setting automation strategy, overseeing project execution, managing engineering teams, and integrating advanced technologies such as PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and IoT-enabled equipment. The director collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement digital transformation initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives and safety standards.
The role also involves vendor management, system integration, lifecycle support, risk assessment, budget control, and compliance with international automation and cybersecurity standards such as ISA, IEC, and NIST.
Job Requirement:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics is required. At least 15 years of experience in industrial automation, with 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity, is essential.
Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA systems, HMI development, industrial networking, and automation project management is necessary. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multimillion-dollar automation projects is expected.
Candidates must have excellent strategic planning, communication, and vendor negotiation skills. Certifications in automation (e.g., Certified Automation Professional), PMP, or Six Sigma are preferred.
