Job Description:

The Textile Finishing Technician in Hawally plays a crucial role in the final stage of textile production, where fabrics are treated to achieve desired characteristics such as softness, colorfastness, wrinkle resistance, and water repellency. This position requires hands-on involvement with various finishing machinery, application of chemical treatments, and careful monitoring of production quality to ensure that all textiles meet the required standards before dispatch.

The technician will work with finishing equipment such as stenter machines, calenders, compactors, and coating machines, and will be responsible for adjusting machine settings according to fabric type and finishing requirements. Daily tasks include setting up machines, mixing and applying chemical solutions, maintaining equipment, testing fabric samples, and maintaining proper documentation of processes. The technician must also monitor the production line to detect inconsistencies, troubleshoot issues on the spot, and collaborate with quality control teams to maintain compliance with industry standards.

This role requires attention to detail, an understanding of textile properties, and the ability to work efficiently in a production-driven environment. The technician will be expected to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of safety and environmental compliance.

The work is physically demanding and may involve standing for long periods, handling chemicals, and working in high-temperature environments. Working hours can vary depending on production demands, and shift work, including nights and weekends, may be required.

Job Requirement:

Candidates for the role of Textile Finishing Technician in Hawally should have a solid understanding of textile manufacturing processes and finishing techniques. A high school diploma or vocational training in textiles or a related field is typically required, although candidates with hands-on experience in textile processing without formal education may also be considered.

Practical experience operating textile finishing machinery is essential. Candidates should be familiar with different types of fabrics and understand how various finishing processes affect fabric quality and performance. A minimum of two years’ experience in a textile finishing role or a similar position in the industry is highly preferred.

Knowledge of safety protocols and chemical handling procedures is critical due to the involvement of various finishing agents and potentially hazardous substances. Familiarity with basic laboratory testing procedures for fabric strength, shrinkage, and colorfastness is also an asset.

The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical aptitude, be able to interpret machine specifications, and perform routine maintenance on finishing equipment. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure consistent product quality, and good communication skills are necessary to collaborate with other departments such as dyeing, quality assurance, and logistics.

Physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment are important. Candidates must be capable of lifting heavy fabric rolls, standing for extended periods, and working in areas with heat and humidity.

Basic computer skills are an advantage for documentation and reporting purposes. A commitment to workplace safety, punctuality, and reliability are highly valued traits for this role. Fluency in Arabic or English is preferred for understanding safety guidelines and communicating with team members.
