This technician works in the central sterile services department (CSSD), operating cleaning and sterilization equipment, inspecting tools for damage, and assembling surgical instrument sets according to standardized procedures. Responsibilities also include monitoring sterilizer performance, documenting cycles, and maintaining accurate inventory records. In Queenstown’s growing healthcare facilities, the technician plays a pivotal role in infection prevention and supports emergency and elective surgical procedures across multiple specialties.

Compliance with national health and safety regulations, ability to work rotating shifts, and physical ability to handle heavy trays and stand for long periods are also required. Good communication and time management skills are essential to coordinate effectively with surgical and nursing teams.
