Job Description:
The Clinical Care Technician is a key support figure in the hospital care team, providing direct and indirect assistance to patients under the supervision of registered nurses and medical professionals. In Queenstown’s hospital settings, Clinical Care Technicians contribute to both clinical and clerical functions, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality patient care. Their responsibilities include assisting with patient hygiene, mobility, feeding, and toileting; measuring and recording vital signs; collecting specimens; preparing patients for diagnostic procedures; and performing basic wound care under guidance. They are also involved in maintaining patient records, transporting patients or equipment, stocking supplies, and ensuring that clinical environments are clean and safe. In some departments, technicians may operate basic monitoring equipment or assist in emergency room triage. This role demands a high degree of flexibility, attention to patient dignity, and the ability to manage a fast-paced, emotionally demanding workload.
Job Requirement:
Candidates should possess a certificate or diploma in healthcare support, clinical assistance, or nursing aid, along with relevant clinical experience, preferably in hospitals or acute care units. They must demonstrate competency in vital sign monitoring, infection control, and basic patient care procedures. Familiarity with electronic health records and medical terminology is essential.
