Job Description:
As an Agricultural Soil Consultant based in Doha, Qatar, you will provide expert analysis, recommendations, and sustainable management strategies for soil health and fertility across a variety of agricultural projects. You will work closely with government agencies, agribusinesses, farmers, and research institutions to assess soil conditions, conduct laboratory testing, and develop tailored soil management plans. Your primary role is to enhance crop yields, ensure environmental sustainability, and support Qatar’s food security goals through science-based soil practices.
Key responsibilities include conducting soil surveys and sampling across farms and research stations, analyzing nutrient levels, pH, salinity, and structure, and recommending soil amendments such as fertilizers, organic matter, or irrigation adjustments. You will also advise on erosion control, soil conservation techniques, and land rehabilitation in arid and semi-arid environments. Regular reporting, training sessions for farmers, and collaboration with agricultural engineers and crop specialists are integral to the role. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work both in the field and in laboratory environments, often under extreme weather conditions. Knowledge of precision agriculture, GIS mapping, and sustainable land use planning will be highly valued.
