Job Description:
The Agricultural Tractor Operator in Al Daayen, Qatar, is responsible for operating tractors and related machinery to perform various agricultural tasks essential to crop production and land management. This includes plowing, tilling, planting, fertilizing, and harvesting activities, supporting efficient farm operations in line with agricultural best practices.
Key duties involve maneuvering tractors across farmland to attach and operate implements such as plows, harrows, seeders, and sprayers. The operator ensures the machinery functions effectively by performing daily inspections, routine maintenance, and timely repairs or reporting faults to mechanics. Operating tractors safely and efficiently on varying soil types and terrain is critical to maximize productivity and reduce crop damage.
Coordination with farm managers, agronomists, and labor teams is essential for scheduling fieldwork and implementing agronomic plans. The operator also follows safety protocols to protect themselves, coworkers, and equipment during field operations, and adheres to environmental guidelines governing chemical application and soil conservation.
Job Requirement:
Education: Minimum high school diploma; vocational training or certification in agricultural machinery operation preferred.
Experience: At least 2 years experience operating agricultural tractors and implements.
Skills:
Skilled in handling different tractor attachments and implements.
Knowledge of agricultural machinery maintenance and safety.
Ability to work with agronomic instructions and follow operational plans.
Physical endurance to work in outdoor agricultural settings.
Awareness of environmental and safety regulations in farming.
Language: Basic English communication skills; Arabic proficiency is beneficial.
