Job Description:
The Compactor Operator in Lusail is responsible for operating heavy compacting machinery to compress and stabilize soil, asphalt, or other construction materials at infrastructure and building sites. The operator ensures that surfaces are properly compacted to specified densities and grades, contributing to the structural integrity of roads, foundations, and construction platforms.
Core duties include driving and controlling various types of compactors such as vibratory rollers, pneumatic tire compactors, and landfill compactors. The role involves reading compaction plans, adjusting machine settings for material type and site conditions, and conducting pre-operational checks to ensure the equipment’s safety and functionality. Operators must monitor surface levels and compaction progress to avoid over-compaction or structural failure.
The position requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with site engineers and construction teams. The Compactor Operator supports Lusail’s urban development by ensuring strong, level surfaces for long-term structural performance.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; machinery operation training is beneficial.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in operating compactors or similar heavy equipment.
Skills:
Proficient in using different types of compaction equipment.
Understanding of soil types, moisture content, and compaction standards.
Ability to follow grade plans and construction blueprints.
Strong focus on safety and equipment handling.
Physical endurance and situational awareness.
License: Valid operator certification and Qatar heavy machinery license required.
Language: Basic English communication; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
Other: Willingness to work in high-temperature conditions and on rotating shifts.
