Job Description:
The Application Language Specialist in Al Wukair is responsible for ensuring the linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness of software applications used by businesses and organizations across Qatar. This role involves translating, localizing, and adapting user interfaces, help documentation, error messages, and in-app content to suit target audiences.
Key duties include collaborating with software developers, UX/UI designers, and localization teams to integrate language-specific elements seamlessly within applications. The specialist performs linguistic quality checks, manages terminology consistency, and ensures compliance with regional language standards and user expectations. This role also includes contributing to glossaries, style guides, and localization workflows to streamline language adaptation processes.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in linguistics, software localization, and application development environments, paired with fluency in relevant languages such as Arabic and English.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in software application localization or language specialization.
Skills:
Proficiency in Arabic and English with strong writing and editing skills.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle and localization tools.
Ability to work with terminology management and style guides.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Language: Fluent in Arabic and English; additional languages are a plus.
