Job Description:
The Applied Biosciences Specialist in Al Rayyan plays a critical role in bridging scientific research and practical application across agriculture, healthcare, and environmental biotechnology. The specialist works on developing and optimizing biological processes for commercial or clinical use, such as bioremediation, diagnostic tools, and bioproduct formulation. Daily responsibilities include conducting lab experiments, validating analytical methods, reviewing scientific literature, and translating findings into scalable solutions.
The role involves collaboration with researchers, product developers, and regulatory teams to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance with Qatari and international standards. The specialist also helps analyze field or lab data to identify trends and propose refinements in process or product design. A key aspect of this position is contributing to pilot projects and feasibility studies to support the country’s bioeconomy goals. Presenting findings at stakeholder meetings and contributing to patent documentation or journal articles may also be expected.
Job Requirement:
Education: Master’s or PhD in Applied Biosciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in applied research, preferably in biotech, agriculture, or life sciences sectors.
Skills:
Expertise in experimental design and data analysis.
Proficient in bioscience instrumentation and lab software.
Knowledge of GMP, ISO, or environmental standards.
Problem-solving ability in translating science into practice.
Communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.
Language: Proficiency in English; Arabic is beneficial.
Other Requirements:
Familiarity with Qatari or GCC bioscience regulations.
Willingness to work on multidisciplinary and cross-sector projects.
