Job Description:
The Biochemical Laboratory Specialist in Umm Salal is responsible for conducting biochemical analyses and experiments that support research, diagnostics, and product development in the biotechnology and life sciences sector. This role involves preparing chemical reagents, performing assays, analyzing biological samples, and ensuring laboratory equipment and procedures comply with quality and safety standards.
Key duties include operating specialized lab instruments such as spectrophotometers, chromatographs, and electrophoresis systems; conducting protein, enzyme, and metabolite analyses; maintaining lab records; and supporting troubleshooting of test results. The specialist also assists in method validation, data interpretation, and collaboration with R&D teams for experimental planning and execution.
This position plays a crucial role in supporting Qatar’s scientific and healthcare initiatives by enabling accurate, reliable biochemical testing in both research and clinical settings.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5 years in a biochemical or clinical laboratory, preferably in a research or diagnostic setting.
Skills:
Proficient in wet lab techniques including ELISA, SDS-PAGE, spectrometry, and chromatography.
Knowledge of biochemical testing protocols and lab safety practices.
Skilled in sample handling, result interpretation, and technical reporting.
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and quality control procedures.
Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
Language: Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
