Job Description:
The Biotech Process Engineer in Al Shahaniya is responsible for designing, optimizing, and scaling up biotechnological processes for the production of pharmaceuticals, biologics, and related products. This role involves applying engineering principles to develop efficient, cost-effective, and compliant manufacturing processes that meet quality and regulatory standards.
Key duties include collaborating with R&D and manufacturing teams to transfer processes from lab to production scale, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing process improvements. The engineer ensures adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), supports validation and documentation activities, and participates in equipment qualification and technology transfer projects. Based in Al Shahaniya, an emerging center for biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing, this position contributes to Qatar’s goal of expanding its biotechnology sector.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
Experience: 3–6 years in bioprocess engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related industries.
Skills:
Strong understanding of bioprocess equipment and unit operations (fermentation, chromatography, filtration).
Experience with process scale-up and optimization.
Knowledge of GMP and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools.
Good documentation and communication skills.
Language: Fluency in English required; Arabic is a plus.
