Job Description:
The Biotech Production Engineer in Al Shamal is responsible for managing the technical aspects of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient production of biologics and other biotechnology-based products. This role bridges engineering expertise with biotechnology operations to support large-scale production in a regulated environment.
Core responsibilities include overseeing daily production activities, optimizing manufacturing workflows, supporting technology transfer, and maintaining strict adherence to GMP standards. The engineer works with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency, minimize deviations, and support equipment validation and calibration. Duties also involve monitoring process parameters, troubleshooting operational issues, and contributing to process scale-up and continuous improvement initiatives.
Positioned in Al Shamal—a location supporting Qatar’s scientific infrastructure—this role plays a key part in developing robust biotech manufacturing capabilities aligned with the country’s healthcare and pharmaceutical vision.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience: 3–5 years in biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing, with experience in production environments.
Skills:
In-depth understanding of biologics production and GMP guidelines.
Familiarity with fermenters, filtration systems, and aseptic techniques.
Ability to analyze process data and identify optimization opportunities.
Strong organizational and technical troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency with manufacturing control systems and documentation tools.
Language: Fluency in English required; Arabic is an advantage.
