Job Description:
The Clinical Lab Supervisor in Umm Salal is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring high standards of diagnostic testing and compliance with medical and regulatory protocols. This role includes managing laboratory personnel, maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Key responsibilities include supervising clinical laboratory technologists and technicians, monitoring workflow efficiency, implementing quality assurance procedures, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. The supervisor also reviews lab results for accuracy, coordinates with physicians and healthcare professionals, and assists in troubleshooting complex diagnostic cases. This role is vital in supporting patient care and public health initiatives in Umm Salal and across Qatar.
As part of Qatar’s expanding healthcare infrastructure, the Clinical Lab Supervisor contributes to the advancement of diagnostic services and laboratory best practices in line with international accreditation standards.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Technology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in a clinical laboratory, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures and diagnostic instrumentation.
Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
Familiarity with LIS (Laboratory Information Systems) and quality control protocols.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills for interaction with clinicians and lab staff.
Language: Fluency in English required; Arabic is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Attention to detail and strict adherence to medical safety standards.
Certification from recognized lab accreditation bodies is preferred (e.g., ASCP, HCPC).
Ability to train and mentor junior staff.
