Job Description:
The Dock Loader plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth loading and unloading of retail merchandise at distribution docks in Madinat ash Shamal, Qatar. This position supports the logistics and transport chain by preparing goods for shipment and receiving incoming deliveries at retail or warehouse facilities. The Dock Loader ensures that all cargo is handled safely, efficiently, and in accordance with inventory and safety protocols.
Key responsibilities include moving merchandise using pallet jacks or forklifts, verifying shipment quantities, inspecting packaging for damage, labeling freight for destination routes, and organizing items according to delivery schedules. The Dock Loader also assists in updating digital records of incoming and outgoing shipments, coordinating with delivery personnel and warehouse supervisors, and ensuring the dock area is clean and hazard-free.
The role demands strong physical ability and attention to detail, as well as adherence to health and safety standards related to lifting, stacking, and securing cargo. Accuracy in item counts and punctuality in dispatch operations are crucial for this role.
Job Requirement:
Education: High school diploma preferred; forklift operation certification is an advantage.
Experience: 1–2 years in warehouse or dock loading roles in retail, logistics, or distribution sectors.
Skills:
Proficient in manual handling and use of lifting equipment.
Ability to read delivery manifests and load sheets.
Good organizational skills for managing high-volume goods.
Teamwork and basic communication skills.
Familiarity with safety procedures in dock environments.
Language: Basic English or Arabic communication skills.
Other Requirements:
Physically fit and able to lift up to 25 kg.
Willingness to work in early morning or night shifts based on delivery schedules.
Understanding of proper loading techniques to prevent damage.
Ability to work in outdoor and indoor loading areas.
