Job Description:
The Scientific Researcher in Al Khor is responsible for conducting original investigations across life sciences disciplines to generate new knowledge, support product innovation, and address pressing biomedical, environmental, or agricultural challenges. Working in academic, clinical, or industrial research settings, the role involves developing hypotheses, designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
The researcher collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including biotechnologists, chemists, data scientists, and regulatory experts, to contribute to translational research and development efforts. Responsibilities include preparing grant proposals, maintaining detailed laboratory records, presenting findings at conferences, and adhering to ethical and safety protocols in accordance with national and international guidelines.
This position is pivotal to strengthening Qatar’s research capacity, contributing to scientific excellence, and supporting evidence-based decision-making in biotech and life sciences sectors.
Job Requirement:
Education: Master’s or PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
Experience: 3–6 years of experience in laboratory-based or applied research, preferably with published work.
Skills:
Strong foundation in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques relevant to the research focus (e.g., PCR, microscopy, spectrometry).
Familiarity with statistical software and research databases.
Ability to manage projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and meet deadlines.
Experience in publishing scientific papers and presenting research findings.
Language: Proficient in English; Arabic is an advantage.
