Job Description:
A CAD Drafter in Zurich is responsible for producing detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings used in the design and construction of ships and marine equipment. Working closely with naval architects and engineers, the drafter interprets technical specifications, sketches, and project briefs to create precise digital blueprints. These drawings cover hull structures, piping layouts, electrical systems, and machinery installation plans. The role requires strong attention to detail and proficiency in CAD software to ensure design accuracy, compliance with marine standards, and ease of fabrication. In Zurich, CAD Drafters contribute significantly to the seamless transition from concept to shipyard production.
Job Requirement:
Diploma or degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools
Experience with shipbuilding or mechanical drafting preferred
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Familiarity with marine construction codes and class regulations
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Ability to collaborate with engineering and production teams
Time management and organizational skills
Fluent in English; German is an advantage
