Job Description:

The Air Cargo Operations Manager in Dubai is responsible for overseeing and managing all cargo handling activities at the airport, ensuring compliance with international air cargo regulations, optimizing operational workflows, and maintaining high standards in safety and service delivery. This role involves the end-to-end management of cargo movement, from inbound receipt to customs clearance, warehousing, and outbound loading.

Key responsibilities include supervising cargo handling agents, managing warehouse capacity, ensuring proper documentation (AWB, manifests), and coordinating with customs, freight forwarders, airlines, and security teams. The manager ensures efficient handling of general, special, and dangerous cargo in line with IATA and GCAA regulations. They also oversee the implementation of security procedures, cargo screening, and storage protocols, including temperature-controlled environments for perishable goods.

The Air Cargo Operations Manager develops operational KPIs, monitors daily performance, and ensures on-time cargo delivery and aircraft turnaround. They are responsible for workforce planning, training, and performance evaluations. The role includes collaborating with IT, automation, and system integration teams to optimize cargo management platforms and real-time inventory tracking.

This is a leadership role that demands operational foresight, attention to regulatory compliance, and a deep understanding of cargo handling logistics to drive efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction in a high-volume airport environment.

Job Requirement:

Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Aviation Management, or Supply Chain with 8–10 years of experience in cargo or freight operations, including at least 3 years in a managerial role. Deep knowledge of IATA cargo handling procedures, GCAA air cargo regulations, and customs clearance processes is essential. Familiarity with cargo management systems like Hermes or CHAMP is preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills are critical. Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an asset.
