Job Description:
The AML Compliance Analyst plays a crucial role in preventing financial crimes by monitoring transactions, identifying suspicious activity, and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) laws and internal policies. The analyst reviews alerts generated by transaction monitoring systems, investigates potential red flags, and prepares Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for submission to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). They also assist in maintaining customer risk profiles, updating AML documentation, and supporting enhanced due diligence for high-risk clients. The role involves coordination with the compliance team, front-office staff, and occasionally with law enforcement or regulatory bodies. The analyst must stay informed of evolving AML regulations, typologies, and red flags and ensure all compliance activities align with UAE Central Bank, FATF, and other international standards. Strong analytical thinking, discretion, and process knowledge are essential for identifying and escalating risks effectively.
Job Requirement:
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Criminology, or a related field is required. Professional certification such as CAMS is highly desirable. Candidates should have 2–4 years of experience in AML, compliance, or financial investigations within a banking or regulatory environment. Familiarity with AML software tools, customer due diligence processes, and STR filing procedures is necessary. Strong research, writing, and critical thinking skills, along with the ability to work confidentially and ethically, are essential for this position.
