Job Description:
The Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) Associate is responsible for the structuring and execution of transactions backed by financial or physical assets. This includes products like auto loan ABS, trade receivables, and lease-backed securities. The associate works with originators, rating agencies, investors, and legal counsel to develop transaction structures that meet risk-return requirements and regulatory obligations. Core responsibilities include evaluating asset pools, performing scenario and stress testing, building financial models, and drafting transaction documentation. The role also involves conducting credit and operational due diligence and supporting origination teams in marketing deals to investors. Post-execution, the associate monitors portfolio performance and ensures compliance with covenants and reporting requirements. This position demands strong technical, analytical, and communication skills and the ability to work across multiple functions in a fast-paced capital markets environment.
Job Requirement:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is required. Candidates should have 3–6 years of experience in structured finance, securitization, credit analysis, or ABS syndication. Strong Excel modeling skills, familiarity with cash flow waterfall tools, and knowledge of credit rating agency criteria are necessary. The ability to interpret legal documents, work with data-heavy environments, and coordinate with both internal stakeholders and external investors is key. Understanding of local and international regulatory frameworks (Basel III, IFRS 9, etc.) is a plus.
