Job Description:
A Bank Teller is the first point of contact for customers conducting financial transactions at a bank branch. The role involves handling cash and cheque transactions, assisting with deposits and withdrawals, issuing bank drafts, and responding to basic customer inquiries. Bank Tellers must ensure that all transactions are executed accurately, promptly, and in compliance with banking policies and regulatory standards.
The teller’s day-to-day responsibilities include processing customer transactions, balancing cash drawers, validating customer identification, and updating account information. They also assist with ATM card issuances, money transfers, and foreign currency exchanges when applicable. Maintaining confidentiality and upholding security procedures are crucial aspects of the role. Tellers often promote the bank’s products and services and guide customers to the appropriate banking specialist when needed.
To succeed, a Bank Teller must demonstrate high attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and the ability to perform under pressure. Tellers must maintain a professional appearance and be able to resolve routine service issues efficiently.
Job Requirement:
Candidates should have a high school diploma or bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or Finance. Prior experience in cash handling or customer service is preferred, though entry-level candidates with strong numeracy and communication skills may be considered. Familiarity with basic banking procedures, UAE Central Bank regulations, and transaction protocols is necessary. Candidates must exhibit integrity, accuracy, and excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English is essential, while knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
