Job Description:

The Intellectual Property Counsel in Ajman serves as the primary legal advisor on all IP-related matters for the organization. This includes developing strategies for the protection and enforcement of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets across jurisdictions. The Counsel will collaborate closely with R&D, marketing, legal, and product teams to identify, register, and monitor IP assets, as well as manage infringement investigations and legal disputes. Responsibilities include drafting IP-related contracts such as licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, and co-development arrangements. The role also involves overseeing external IP agents, managing IP portfolios, conducting due diligence for acquisitions, and advising on IP clauses in broader commercial agreements. This strategic role requires a balance of legal expertise, business acumen, and technical insight to ensure that IP assets are aligned with corporate objectives and adequately protected.

Job Requirement:

A law degree with a concentration in intellectual property law is essential, and bar admission in a recognized jurisdiction is required. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience in managing IP portfolios within corporate legal departments or law firms, particularly in technology or innovation-driven sectors. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of international IP laws, patent prosecution procedures, and licensing practices. Skills in contract negotiation, litigation support, and policy development are critical. The ability to engage with technical teams, manage international filings, and work across time zones is important. Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Arabic would be a benefit. Experience in the UAE or MENA IP regulatory landscape is highly preferred.
