Job Description:
The Terminal Operations Manager in Al Ain is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of terminal functions, ensuring operational efficiency, passenger safety, and superior service delivery across all terminal areas. This leadership role involves managing personnel, coordinating with multiple airport stakeholders, and driving performance excellence in accordance with regulatory standards and customer expectations.
Key responsibilities include planning and supervising daily terminal operations such as passenger processing, baggage handling, terminal security, and resource management. The manager leads terminal response to flight disruptions, ensures timely communication with airline operators and authorities, and manages staff allocation across check-in counters, gates, and information desks. The role also entails setting key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting operational audits, and implementing service improvement strategies.
The Terminal Operations Manager coordinates emergency responses, supervises terminal contingency planning, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role includes budget preparation for terminal services, overseeing maintenance needs, and managing vendor performance for outsourced services like cleaning, security, or VIP handling. Staff development, training, and performance evaluation are also key parts of the role.
This position demands strategic thinking, operational foresight, and stakeholder collaboration to maintain uninterrupted terminal services and elevate the passenger experience. The manager acts as the terminal’s primary point of authority during operational hours, reporting to senior airport management.
Job Requirement:
A bachelor's degree in Airport Management, Business Administration, or Transportation Logistics is required, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in terminal or airport operations, including 3 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of IATA, GCAA, and ICAO operational standards is essential. Candidates should have experience managing large teams, dealing with irregular operations, and using terminal management systems such as AODB and RMS. Leadership, crisis management, analytical thinking, and communication skills are critical. Fluency in English is required; Arabic proficiency is highly beneficial.
