Job Description:

The Aggregate Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the extraction, processing, and distribution of aggregates such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone to support energy, construction, and utility projects in Vancouver. This role involves managing operational activities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing production efficiency. The manager collaborates closely with site supervisors, engineers, and logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective operations.

Key responsibilities include planning production schedules, coordinating workforce and equipment, monitoring operational performance, and implementing process improvements. The Aggregate Operations Manager ensures that aggregate quality meets project specifications and regulatory standards. They also manage budgets, procurement, and reporting while maintaining adherence to workplace safety and environmental policies.

In Vancouver’s energy and utilities sector, aggregates play a critical role in construction and infrastructure development. This position requires leadership skills, operational expertise, and strong problem-solving abilities to balance productivity, safety, and sustainability. Job Requirement:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil Engineering, Operations Management, or related field. Professional certifications in operations or safety management are advantageous.

Experience: 5–8 years of experience in aggregate production, mining operations, or resource management, preferably with Canadian experience.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of aggregate extraction and processing techniques.

Proficiency in production planning and operational management software.

Budgeting, resource allocation, and team management skills.

Ability to optimize processes for efficiency, safety, and quality.

Effective communication and leadership abilities.

Knowledge of Canadian safety and environmental regulations.

Language: Proficiency in English; French is an asset.
