Job Description:
The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment used in manufacturing processes. This includes machinery such as conveyors, pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and motors. The millwright diagnoses equipment failures, disassembles machines, replaces or repairs parts, and reassembles them to restore functionality. Preventive maintenance is a key duty, including lubrication, alignment, and calibration of mechanical systems. The role also requires interpretation of blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals. The millwright collaborates with other maintenance staff, engineers, and machine operators to minimize downtime and improve production efficiency. This is a hands-on role requiring mechanical skill, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to workplace safety.
Job Requirement:
Certification or diploma in mechanical maintenance, industrial mechanics, or millwright trades
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or machine repair
Ability to diagnose mechanical failures and perform root cause analysis
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
Familiarity with alignment and balancing of rotating equipment
Skilled in reading blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
Basic welding and fabrication skills are advantageous
Excellent problem-solving and time management abilities
Physical ability to lift heavy components and work in various plant conditions
Strong understanding of safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices
