Job Description:
The Photovoltaic (PV) Technician installs, tests, maintains, and repairs solar photovoltaic systems in residential, commercial, and utility-scale settings. The technician works with solar panels, inverters, charge controllers, and batteries to ensure efficient energy conversion and storage. Duties include mounting solar modules, running electrical wiring, configuring system controllers, and verifying system performance through diagnostic software.
The technician troubleshoots issues related to shading, grid integration, voltage irregularities, and component faults. Field assessments, site preparation, and system commissioning are core components of the role. Adherence to electrical codes, fire safety regulations, and industry best practices is mandatory.
Job Requirement:
A diploma or certificate in renewable energy systems, electrical installation, or electronics is essential. Experience with PV system design and installation is required. Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC) standards and relevant safety procedures is important. Ability to read electrical schematics and use test equipment such as multimeters and IV curve tracers is necessary. Physical fitness, ladder safety training, and fall protection certification are expected.
