Job Description:
The Aggregate Hauling Driver in Dunedin is responsible for transporting bulk construction aggregates such as gravel, sand, crushed stone, or recycled material from quarries or batching plants to job sites. Operating dump trucks, tipper trucks, or articulated haulage vehicles, the driver ensures safe loading, transport, and dumping of materials under strict timeframes. Responsibilities include vehicle pre-trip inspections, weight compliance checks, route planning, and communication with dispatch and site supervisors. The driver must be skilled in navigating varied terrain, construction access roads, and urban traffic environments. During offloading, the driver operates hydraulic bed lifts, monitors tipping conditions, and ensures even material distribution when required. In some cases, the role may involve multiple site visits or long-haul runs within a day. Post-delivery duties include cleaning debris from the bed, logging fuel usage and mileage, and maintaining the truck’s mechanical condition. In Dunedin’s infrastructure and civil development projects, this driver supports continuous material flow for road base preparation, concrete batching, and land grading.
Job Requirement:
Candidates must hold a valid heavy vehicle license with prior experience in aggregate or bulk material transportation. Knowledge of load securing, weight limits, and vehicle maintenance is essential. Physical fitness, time management, and safe driving habits are critical, along with the ability to follow delivery instructions and coordinate with on-site personnel.
