Job Description:
The Alarm System Installer sets up, configures, and maintains intrusion detection and emergency alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings throughout Auckland. The job includes site surveys, installing control panels, motion detectors, door/window sensors, sirens, and wiring components, as well as programming systems according to customer requirements. Installers test each component, integrate the alarm with mobile apps or monitoring stations, and instruct clients on usage and response procedures. This role often requires working in ceiling voids, walls, or rooftops to conceal cables and hardware. In addition to new installations, the installer may be responsible for upgrades, maintenance, or troubleshooting system issues. This position is ideal for technically skilled individuals with a background in low-voltage electrical work and an interest in property security solutions.
Job Requirement:
Applicants should have a certificate or vocational training in electronics, electrical systems, or security system installation, with at least 1–2 years of field experience. Familiarity with both wired and wireless alarm systems, diagnostic tools, and software configuration is essential. The role requires attention to detail, ability to follow wiring diagrams, and confidence working in tight or elevated spaces. A clean background check, valid driver’s license, and strong customer communication skills are typically required due to the sensitive nature of security work.
