Job Description:

The Soundproof Insulation Fitter in Queenstown is responsible for installing acoustic materials to reduce noise transmission within buildings, particularly in recording studios, hotels, offices, cinemas, and residential developments. This role includes fitting acoustic batts, barrier mats, foam panels, mass-loaded vinyl, and resilient channels between walls, ceilings, and floors. The fitter reads acoustic treatment plans and architectural blueprints to determine material types and placement, ensuring effective sound isolation and reverberation control. Tasks include measuring and cutting materials, installing them within stud frames or onto surfaces, sealing gaps and joints, and applying acoustic caulking or backing layers as required. The fitter may also assist in installing suspended acoustic ceilings, sound traps, and dampening products around mechanical equipment. Working closely with acoustic consultants, interior fit-out teams, and project managers, the Soundproof Insulation Fitter helps create comfortable and private environments by controlling airborne and impact noise.

Job Requirement:

Applicants should have 2–3 years of experience in insulation or acoustic treatment installation. A good understanding of noise control principles and experience with tools like staplers, saws, drills, and acoustic sealants is essential. Candidates must be able to follow technical drawings, work precisely, and manage material waste. Physical stamina, safety compliance, and the ability to work in wall cavities, ceiling spaces, or during fit-out stages are required. Familiarity with building codes related to acoustics is beneficial.
