Job Description:
The Applied Physicist is responsible for conducting research and applying principles of physics to develop technologies and solutions that support engineering, energy, and industrial innovation in Doha, Qatar. This role involves using advanced mathematical modeling, experimental techniques, and computational simulations to solve real-world problems related to materials science, optics, fluid dynamics, electromagnetism, and thermal systems.
Key responsibilities include designing and executing experiments, analyzing physical data, developing prototypes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to translate theoretical models into practical applications. The physicist may also support product development, quality testing, and system performance evaluations in sectors such as aerospace, energy, electronics, and structural engineering.
The Applied Physicist plays a vital role in advancing high-tech projects and contributes to Qatar’s goals for scientific advancement, sustainable development, and industrial competitiveness.
Job Requirement:
Education: Master’s or PhD in Applied Physics, Engineering Physics, or a closely related field.
Experience: 3–6 years in applied research or technology development, preferably in engineering or industrial R&D environments.
Skills:
Proficiency in computational tools (MATLAB, COMSOL, ANSYS) and experimental physics techniques.
Strong background in mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, and materials science.
Ability to conduct simulations, interpret results, and develop technical reports.
Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-disciplinary teams.
Effective scientific communication and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of Qatari R&D ecosystems or experience in GCC-based innovation projects is beneficial.
Publication or patent history in applied physics topics is an advantage.
Attention to detail and commitment to scientific rigor and safety.
