Job Description:
The Automation Control Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated control systems for industrial and infrastructure projects in Al Khor, Qatar. This role ensures the seamless operation of complex machinery and systems, improving efficiency, safety, and reliability in manufacturing plants, utilities, and smart infrastructure environments.
Key responsibilities include programming and configuring PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems, designing control architectures, integrating sensors and instrumentation, and ensuring compliance with operational standards. The engineer also collaborates with mechanical, electrical, and IT teams to troubleshoot control issues, optimize system performance, and implement process automation upgrades. In addition, the role supports commissioning, testing, and technical documentation efforts.
The Automation Control Engineer plays a vital role in advancing industrial automation and digital transformation initiatives that align with Qatar’s national vision for technological innovation.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, or Mechatronics.
Experience: 4–6 years in automation systems design, programming, and implementation.
Skills:
Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMI/SCADA configuration.
Understanding of industrial protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC).
Experience in control loop tuning, instrumentation integration, and system testing.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to interpret control schematics and process flow diagrams.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Other Requirements:
Familiarity with Qatari and international safety and automation standards.
Experience with commissioning and supporting live systems.
