Job Description:
The Bioengineering Specialist applies engineering principles to biological systems to develop innovative medical, agricultural, and environmental solutions in Doha, Qatar. This interdisciplinary role bridges life sciences and engineering, supporting research, product development, and system design in areas such as biomedical devices, tissue engineering, biosensors, and sustainable bioprocessing.
Key responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, developing prototypes, modeling biological interactions, and collaborating with clinical researchers, environmental scientists, and product engineers. The specialist may be involved in designing bio-compatible materials, optimizing bioreactor systems, and supporting projects in regenerative medicine, medical imaging, or industrial biotechnology. Regulatory compliance, ethical review, and risk analysis are also integral to the role.
The Bioengineering Specialist plays a vital role in advancing Qatar’s healthcare innovation, environmental stewardship, and bioeconomy goals, contributing to both academic and applied research initiatives.
Job Requirement:
Education: Master’s or PhD in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
Experience: 4–7 years in bioengineering research, medical technology development, or industrial biotech applications.
Skills:
Proficiency in bio-simulation tools, lab instrumentation, and materials analysis.
Strong understanding of human physiology, biomechanics, and cellular systems.
Knowledge of biocompatibility, sterilization, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 10993, FDA).
Experience in multidisciplinary team collaboration and scientific documentation.
Ability to translate research into viable engineering solutions.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic is advantageous.
Other Requirements:
Experience with clinical trials, patent development, or startup ventures is a plus.
Strong publication or project portfolio in medical or environmental bioengineering.
Commitment to innovation, sustainability, and public health improvement.
Familiarity with Qatari or GCC research and development frameworks.
