Job Description:
The Automation Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated control systems across industrial, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects in Madinat ash Shamal, Qatar. This role plays a critical part in optimizing operations, improving efficiency, and ensuring the reliability of automated processes in sectors such as oil and gas, utilities, and advanced manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include developing control logic, configuring programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS), integrating SCADA/HMI systems, and conducting system diagnostics and troubleshooting. The engineer works closely with process engineers, instrumentation specialists, and IT teams to ensure systems are responsive, safe, and compliant with industry and safety standards.
The Automation Systems Engineer supports Qatar’s goals in digital transformation, smart infrastructure, and operational excellence by advancing the integration of intelligent automation in engineering systems.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
Experience: 4–6 years of experience in automation systems design and implementation.
Skills:
Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, and HMI development.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
Experience in control panel design, loop tuning, and system integration.
Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills.
Familiarity with safety systems and regulatory compliance.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Familiarity with Qatar’s industrial automation standards and safety codes.
Ability to prepare technical documentation and system manuals.
Willingness to work on-site during system installation and testing.
Strong analytical mindset and attention to operational detail.
