Job Description:
The Biological Researcher is responsible for conducting experimental and field-based research related to biological systems, with a focus on applications in environmental engineering, biotechnology, and sustainable development in Umm Salal, Qatar. This role supports the study of living organisms, ecosystems, and biological materials to inform projects in wastewater treatment, agricultural engineering, renewable energy (e.g., biofuels), and environmental conservation.
Key duties include designing and performing laboratory experiments, analyzing biological samples, documenting findings, and publishing research to guide project design and policy. The researcher may work on microbial processes, biosensors, ecological impact assessments, and genetically modified organisms depending on the project scope. Collaboration with environmental engineers, public health professionals, and regulatory agencies is essential to apply scientific insights to practical challenges.
The Biological Researcher plays a critical role in ensuring that infrastructure and development projects consider and align with biological systems for long-term sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Job Requirement:
Education: Master’s or PhD in Biology, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Experience: 3–6 years in biological or environmental research, ideally with field and laboratory components.
Skills:
Experience with molecular biology, microbiology, or ecology lab techniques.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., R, SPSS, GIS) and scientific reporting.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and biological monitoring.
Ability to conduct cross-disciplinary research in engineering-related contexts.
Excellent documentation and technical communication abilities.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Familiarity with Qatari or GCC environmental standards.
Experience writing grant proposals or participating in funded research projects.
