Job Description:
The Bathymetric Survey Specialist in Al Wakrah is responsible for conducting detailed underwater topographic surveys to support energy, utility, and marine infrastructure projects in Qatar. This role involves using advanced sonar, echo-sounding, and remote sensing technologies to measure and map the seabed and underwater features accurately.
Key duties include planning and executing bathymetric surveys, processing and analyzing collected data, and producing high-resolution maps for engineering, environmental assessment, and resource exploration. The specialist collaborates closely with marine engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists to ensure that survey data informs safe and efficient project design and execution.
The position also requires maintaining survey equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and preparing technical reports and presentations. The Bathymetric Survey Specialist plays a vital role in protecting marine environments while enabling sustainable energy and infrastructure development.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marine Science, Geomatics, Surveying, Oceanography, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in bathymetric or hydrographic surveying.
Skills:
Expertise in operating sonar and echo-sounding equipment.
Proficiency with GIS and bathymetric data processing software.
Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Ability to work safely in marine and offshore environments.
Excellent communication and report writing abilities.
Language: Proficient in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
