Job Description:
The Drilling Site Geologist in Doha is responsible for providing geological expertise during drilling operations to ensure safe and efficient extraction of subsurface resources. This role involves analyzing rock formations, core samples, and drilling data to guide drilling direction and optimize resource recovery.
Key duties include monitoring drilling activities, interpreting geological data in real-time, and advising drilling teams on formation characteristics and potential hazards. The geologist collaborates closely with drilling engineers, geophysicists, and reservoir specialists to enhance drilling performance and minimize environmental impact.
The position requires detailed reporting of geological findings, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Drilling Site Geologist plays a critical role in decision-making processes during exploration and production phases.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in drilling geology or petroleum geology.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of subsurface geology and drilling processes.
Proficiency in geological logging and sample analysis.
Ability to interpret seismic and core data effectively.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with safety standards and environmental regulations.
Language: Proficient in English; Arabic is a plus.
