Job Description:
The Electric Network Planning Specialist in Al Shamal is responsible for developing long-term plans and strategies to ensure the expansion and reliability of the electric power network. This role involves forecasting electricity demand, evaluating network capacity, and designing upgrades or new infrastructure to meet future energy needs.
Key duties include conducting load flow studies, risk assessments, and contingency analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities in the network. The specialist collaborates with engineers, planners, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with industry standards and sustainability goals.
The role requires preparing technical documentation, cost estimates, and project proposals, supporting the integration of renewable energy sources and smart grid technologies. Close coordination with utility operators and project managers ensures that network expansion aligns with Qatar’s energy policies and environmental commitments.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
Experience: 4–6 years in electric network planning or power system engineering.
Skills:
Proficiency in power system analysis tools (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP).
Strong analytical and forecasting abilities.
Knowledge of network design, protection schemes, and grid codes.
Effective communication and project management skills.
Familiarity with renewable energy integration and smart grid concepts.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
