Job Description:
The Digital Meter Recording Technician in Al Rayyan is responsible for installing, maintaining, and reading digital utility meters that measure electricity, water, and gas consumption. This role ensures accurate data collection and supports automated meter reading systems used by utility companies across Qatar.
Primary duties include programming digital meters, troubleshooting faults, performing routine inspections, and upgrading meter software as needed. The technician also manages data transmission to centralized control systems and assists in calibrating meters to ensure precise readings.
Collaboration with field teams and data analysts is essential to monitor meter performance and resolve anomalies. The role involves working with the latest smart metering technologies and requires adherence to safety standards and industry regulations.
Job Requirement:
Education: Diploma or certification in electrical engineering, instrumentation, or a related field.
Experience: At least 2 years experience working with digital or smart meter technologies preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in digital meter installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with communication protocols used in smart meters.
Ability to work with computers and specialized software.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
