Job Description:
The Earth Science Specialist in Al Gharrafa plays a pivotal role in supporting energy and utility projects through the study and analysis of geological, geophysical, and environmental data. This position focuses on assessing subsurface conditions, identifying potential resource deposits, and evaluating geological hazards that may impact drilling and infrastructure development.
Key duties include collecting and interpreting geological samples, performing field surveys, and integrating geoscientific data into project planning. The specialist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists, to provide insights that influence exploration, construction, and environmental management decisions.
The role also involves preparing technical reports, risk assessments, and recommendations to ensure safe and efficient resource extraction while minimizing environmental impact. The Earth Science Specialist ensures compliance with local regulations and promotes sustainable practices aligned with Qatar’s energy development goals.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Science, or related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous.
Experience: 3–5 years in earth sciences or geological consultancy, preferably within the energy or utilities sector.
Skills:
Proficient in geological mapping, sampling, and data analysis.
Strong knowledge of mineralogy, stratigraphy, and geotechnical principles.
Ability to use GIS and geoscience software tools effectively.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking.
Language: Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are beneficial.
