Job Description:
The Chief Legal Officer (CLO) in Lusail holds a senior executive role responsible for overseeing all legal affairs of the organization, ensuring legal integrity, regulatory compliance, and alignment with strategic business objectives. This role involves leading the legal department, advising the executive board on legal risks, corporate governance, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance with Qatari and international laws. The CLO will also manage relationships with external counsel and ensure all business activities meet regulatory and ethical standards.
Key duties include supervising legal operations, reviewing complex legal contracts, leading legal due diligence for transactions, ensuring intellectual property protection, and guiding corporate structuring. The CLO acts as a strategic business partner, contributing to high-level decision-making and risk mitigation strategies. This position is pivotal in maintaining corporate legal health and ensuring the organization operates within a sound legal framework.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); LLM or MBA with a legal focus preferred. Admission to practice law in Qatar or equivalent jurisdiction required.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of senior legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a corporate or multinational environment.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of Qatari and international corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
Strategic thinking with the ability to advise C-level executives.
Proven track record in legal leadership, litigation oversight, and compliance.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Language: Fluency in English required; Arabic is highly desirable.
