Job Description:
The Compliance Counsel in Umm Salal ensures that the organization’s operations, practices, and policies comply with applicable Qatari laws, international regulations, and internal governance standards. This role involves providing legal oversight on compliance issues, developing internal control mechanisms, and advising departments on ethical and regulatory risks.
Key responsibilities include drafting and reviewing compliance policies, conducting risk assessments, managing compliance training programs, and advising on matters such as anti-money laundering (AML), anti-bribery, data protection, and industry-specific regulations. The counsel also supports internal audits, handles regulatory inquiries, and works closely with business units to address potential violations or lapses.
This role is essential for maintaining operational integrity and fostering a culture of legal compliance within the organization, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, finance, logistics, and energy.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law; certifications in Compliance, AML, or Risk Management (e.g., CAMS, CCEP) are preferred. Must be licensed to practice in Qatar or a recognized jurisdiction.
Experience: 5–7 years in legal compliance, regulatory advisory, or corporate legal roles with a focus on governance.
Skills:
Expertise in Qatari regulatory frameworks and international compliance standards.
Strong policy drafting, legal review, and internal investigation skills.
Familiarity with ethics programs and corporate governance.
Effective trainer with the ability to translate legal requirements into practical guidance.
Language: Fluency in English is required; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
