Job Description:
The Fire Safety Engineer is responsible for the design, assessment, and implementation of fire protection systems and life safety strategies in buildings and infrastructure projects across Doha, Qatar. This role ensures compliance with national and international fire safety codes and supports the integration of effective fire prevention and emergency response solutions into construction and operational phases.
Key responsibilities include conducting fire risk assessments, developing fire safety plans, designing fire detection and suppression systems, and ensuring compliance with civil defense regulations. The engineer collaborates with architects, MEP teams, contractors, and local authorities to review designs, conduct inspections, and support fire safety approvals. The role also involves training stakeholders on fire safety protocols and supporting audits or incident investigations when required.
The Fire Safety Engineer is essential to safeguarding lives, assets, and infrastructure in line with Qatar’s rigorous safety standards and urban development ambitions.
Job Requirement:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; certifications in fire safety design are preferred.
Experience: 5–8 years in fire safety engineering, fire systems design, or life safety consulting.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of NFPA codes, QCDD regulations, and international fire safety standards.
Experience in designing and reviewing fire alarm, sprinkler, and smoke control systems.
Proficiency in fire modeling software (e.g., PyroSim, FDS, Pathfinder).
Strong understanding of building egress and emergency planning.
Excellent technical reporting and communication skills.
Language: Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Other Requirements:
Experience liaising with Qatari Civil Defense for system approvals.
Familiarity with GSAS/LEED safety and sustainability integrations.
Commitment to protecting public safety in high-density developments.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage regulatory documentation efficiently.
