Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Horticulture Assistant to support our agricultural and landscaping operations within the Agriculture & Fisheries sector in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will assist in the cultivation, maintenance, and management of ornamental plants, fruits, vegetables, and trees in a variety of environments including greenhouses, nurseries, and outdoor landscapes.
The role involves daily care of plants, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and pest management, while ensuring optimal plant health and growth. The Horticulture Assistant will collaborate with senior horticulturists and landscape supervisors to implement planting plans, seasonal schedules, and eco-friendly practices. Additional duties may include preparing soil, operating horticultural machinery, assisting with research trials, and monitoring plant diseases or environmental conditions that affect productivity.
This position requires a commitment to maintaining aesthetic and agricultural quality in public and private green spaces, as well as a keen eye for detail. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in Qatar’s climate and able to perform physically demanding tasks.
