Job Description:

The Nanomaterials Scientist is responsible for researching, developing, and characterizing materials at the nanoscale for use in advanced engineering, energy, and biomedical applications in Mesaieed, Qatar. This role supports innovation in Qatar’s R&D landscape, contributing to high-performance materials that enable progress in clean energy, electronics, coatings, and smart infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include synthesizing nanomaterials (e.g., carbon nanotubes, nanoparticles, nanocomposites), conducting laboratory testing, and analyzing structural and functional properties using techniques such as TEM, AFM, and spectroscopy. The scientist collaborates with academic institutions, industrial partners, and product development teams to apply nanotechnology in solving real-world engineering challenges. The role also includes publishing research findings, preparing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.

The Nanomaterials Scientist plays a crucial role in advancing Qatar’s national capabilities in high-tech materials and contributing to sustainable, innovation-led growth across industries.

Job Requirement:

Education: PhD or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Chemistry, or Physics.

Experience: 4–7 years in nanomaterials research or application-based development.

Skills:

Proficiency in nanomaterial synthesis, surface modification, and characterization tools.

Familiarity with electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and thermal analysis.

Ability to translate research into industrial or commercial solutions.

Strong experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing skills.

Cross-disciplinary collaboration in engineering, energy, or biomedical projects.

Language: Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.

Other Requirements:

Experience working in ISO-certified or government-funded research facilities.

Commitment to laboratory safety and handling of nanomaterials responsibly.

Willingness to mentor junior researchers and support applied research grants.

Passion for innovation and contributing to Qatar’s science and technology initiatives.
