Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Concrete Finishing Machine Operator to support our road and flat slab construction projects in Barcelona. This role involves operating ride-on or walk-behind finishing machines to deliver smooth, level concrete surfaces on roads, industrial floors, and large slabs.
Daily responsibilities include machine setup, adjusting blades or trowels, controlling machine speed, and managing weight distribution to ensure a high-quality finish. You will monitor surface moisture and consistency while following project grade specifications.
Coordination with paving crews and surveyors is essential to ensure smooth transitions between poured sections. You will also perform routine machine inspections and report maintenance needs to supervisors.
A successful operator must have a refined eye for surface quality and the mechanical skill to adjust equipment for varying slab conditions.
Job Requirement:
andidates must have prior experience operating concrete finishing machines such as trowel machines, power floats, or ride-on finishers. Certification in concrete finishing equipment is preferred.
You must demonstrate the ability to read grade stakes, follow surface tolerances, and adjust machine settings precisely. Strong understanding of concrete behavior, surface de-misting, and moisture retention is necessary.
Applicants need physical endurance and good coordination, especially for handling large equipment with steering or blade control. Mechanical aptitude for minor adjustments and cleaning after pours is expected.
Fluency in Spanish is required for crew coordination and safety instructions; basic English is helpful. Knowledge of construction tolerance standards and finish specifications is essential.
You must follow site safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain focus during repetitive surface passes. Attention to finish lines, edge trimming, and expansion joints is vital.
