Job Description:

The Academic Advisor in Dubai provides critical guidance and support to students throughout their academic journey. This role is pivotal in ensuring that students make informed decisions regarding course selection, degree planning, and academic performance improvement. Advisors act as a bridge between students and academic departments, supporting retention, progression, and student satisfaction.

The advisor's key responsibilities include conducting individual advising sessions, helping students understand degree requirements, creating academic plans, and identifying potential academic risks. They also support students facing challenges such as course failure, probation, or personal barriers to success by recommending appropriate interventions or support services. Advisors maintain accurate records, track student progress, and use data to recommend improvements in advising services and student engagement strategies.

Additionally, Academic Advisors assist with student orientation programs, collaborate with faculty to address academic concerns, and provide guidance on electives, transfer credits, and academic policies. They may also support students in preparing for graduate study or exploring career pathways related to their academic interests.

Job Requirement:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required. Candidates should have at least 2–3 years of experience in academic advising, student affairs, or educational support services. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are necessary, along with an empathetic and student-centered approach. Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., Banner, PeopleSoft), degree audit tools, and advising platforms is beneficial. English fluency is mandatory; Arabic is a plus in communicating with local students and families.
